Vuelta stage 15: Niemiec wins, Contador staves off Froome

With most UK cycling fans having to watch this stage live on illegal feeds, the GC boys made our afternoon of trying to avoid porn pop-ups worth it. Przemyslaw Niemiec won the stage from the break, Alejandro Valverde and Joaquim Rodriguez wheelsucked their way to second and third, while Alberto Contador concentrated on staying ahead of Chris Froome‘s power-metered ride to take a few seconds from him.

Giro stage 16: Movistar triples with Intxausti

Stage 16: Valloire to Ivrea, 238km

Benat Intxausti (Movistar) won a three-man sprint ahead of Tanel Kangert (Astana) and Przemyslaw Niemiec (Lampre-Merida). The threesome went clear of the maglia rosa group in the final kilometres with Intxausti winning Movistar’s second consecutive stage and third overall. Continue reading
