It’s a ‘beasy’ time as we get ready for the first Grand Tour of the season starting on Friday. But that didn’t mean there wasn’t great racing last week. Today, we celebrate Thomas De Gendt in the Alps, dance with Dan Craven in Senegal and lament the sanitisation of Fabianese. Plus much much more … It’s a bumper crop of TWEETS OF THE WEEK
It’s been quite a cycling season, with first-time winners in all the Monuments; the Giro and the Vuelta on a knife-edge into the final few stages; some big teams folding and some big riders hanging up their wheels. So it should be a fairly interesting VeloVoices awards list this year. The highly coveted Rider of the Year is not for the winningest rider or the one with the most WorldTour points (although in this case …) or the highest paid. No, as with all of our stuff, it’s highly personal and we’ve each nominated the rider who kept each of us on the edge of our seat.
It was an Olympic few days – lots of hard racing, terrible crashes, fabulous wins and heartbreaking losses. But that’s what sport is all about, isn’t it? Here are some golden tweets for you – and a special VeloVoices Gold Medal for Tweeter of the Week, Dan Craven!
