Giro Tweets: 100+ and double dream dashed

The second week of the Giro has come and gone. And we’ve seen the two most famous British cyclists have two very different experiences – Cav passed the landmark 100 victories and Wiggo didn’t do the Tour/Giro double. In fact, he didn’t even get to the weekend. That, plus some great Giro images and a large gruppetto means it’s Giro Tweets of the Week!

C is for 100

The Roman numeral for 100 is C – which is fitting, considering Mark Cavendish chalked up his 100th victory last week (and then 1 more for good measure – that would be CI in Roman numerals). And C is for Champagne and congratulations, etc etc.

Fabian Cancellara came to the race on Sunday ready to Ronde but days before, @Ponckster found Fabs’ Flanders plan of attack so we weren’t surprised by his victory.

Friday Feature: The Volta a Catalunya by Ian Walton ‘The Musette’

We’re lucky at VeloVoices in that we have great photographers sharing their photographs with us from all kinds of races. This week, we’ve gone from Davide Calabresi’s snow-encrusted shots of Sunday’s Milan-San Remo to Ian Walton, aka The Musette, in sun-kissed Catalunya.
