E3 Harelbeke preview

Formerly known as the tongue-twister that was E3 Prijs Vlaanderen-Harelbeke, this year’s E3 Harelbeke is the 55th edition – but the first as a WorldTour event. This – and Sunday’s Gent-Wevelgem – is seen as a warm-up event for the brutality of the Ronde van Vlaanderen (Tour of Flanders) and Paris-Roubaix later in the month.

Defending champion Fabian Cancellara will be back to defend the title he won with a dramatic solo ride last year.

Tweets of the Week: Cobbles and commentary

Funny, cruel, odd, personal … you get it all on Twitter. Each week, we’ll have a rundown of some of our favourite tweets. Here are the tweets for the week ending 26th February 2012.

All cobbled together

It was the start of the Belgian Classics at the weekend and, well, there was a lot of excitement in the Twittersphere. Of course, everyone was watching big Tom Boonen, particularly in Omloop on Saturday. Why? Because he practically owns those roads. In fact, according to the Inner Ring, Wikipedia (so it must be fact!) has something to say about Tom and those cobbled climbs.
