Stage 10 of the Tour de France was pure chaos and I LOVED it.
I present these tweets in no particular order as, like many people, I was ‘trying’ to follow on twitter and nothing made any sense.
I'm on a train trying to make sense of bits I've picked up on Twitter. Is Chaves in the break?
— Joanna Cooksey (@MsFennyBentley) July 11, 2023
And YES, Esteban Chaves (EF Education-Easypost) was in the break. Spoiler alert, he was VERY attackity and finished 5th – hooray.
From Kilometre zero to the finish it was action all day long.
Got to applaud the audacity of first and second on GC thinking they could sneak into a break.

This is all that’s left of the GC group already! Pog and Jonas both there.#DomestiqueLive pic.twitter.com/1ajeOZ7xeE

Riders all over the road.
🏁 126 KM
💥 The race has been explosive and is changing constantly. Another new small group has formed with a ''16 lead.

French hearts sank as first Romain Bardet (DSM Firmenich) and then David Gaudu (Groupama FDJ) were dropped. At one point the group they were in was over two minutes back. Thank goodness they made it back to the main peloton.
🇫🇷After Romain Bardet, it's now @GauduDavid exiting at the back of the peloton. Tough day for the French riders.

Poor Romain, these are practically his home roads. At least his team has sense of humour, though they forgot to add the getting dropped and having to chase like fury to get back.
💬"So at this part I'm going to attack, cause complete chaos and bring some other GC guys with me." – @romainbardet, probably
Romain's group is back in the bunch as the attacks start once more.💥#TDF2023 https://t.co/AZwXBOR3KY

The punsters were out in force.
They’ve crested the climb and now they are seeing how far back the Groupama leader is… yes, we’re “Waiting for Gaudu” #TDF2023

The attacks just kept happening.
Julian Alaphilippe (Soudal Quick-Step) and Matej Mohoric (Bahrain-Victorious) make their move – on a descent of course.

And finally towards the end, just when we thought the break were home free, THIS HAPPENED! Jumbo-Visma’s Wout Van Aert and Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin Deceuninck) set off on their own. Even Sean Kelly was lost for words.

I think they have it in their respective contracts that they can't go in a breakaway without each other.

Don’t you just LOVE days like these.
Was that a queen stage? 🥵 #TdF2023
