Another stage, another sprint, another nailed on Mathieu van der Poel lead out gives victory number two for Jasper Philipsen and his Alpecin-Deceuninck crew, but crikey it was impossible to find my moment of joy in the racing. Instead I’m going with some images that stole my breath when they popped up on my twitter feed this morning. I give you the utterly joyous Grubers.
What sets the Ashley and Jered Gruber apart is their ability to capture raw emotion. The sport is lightning quick, the action is only for an instant, but they both produce images that show the the majesty, the chaos, the drama and sometimes the beautiful agony of this crazy sport. From intimate candid scenes of riders and fans to sweeping landscapes, I feel every single one. Enjoy the slideshows and their commentary on how they set about capturing Le Tour.
Extraordinary shot of the road along the coast on Stage 3.
The juxtaposition between the cyclists set against this wild, roiling sea. Make sure you scroll through the images to find the black and white portrait of Esteban Chaves (EF Education-EasyPost).

Full bore, screaming sprint finish
Jered pulls you to the heart of the finale, so close you can almost feel the lactic acid build up in your muscles, so close you can almost taste the victory.
