After a week’s hiatus, we’re back with all the best tweets from the Jumbo-dominated Dauphine as well as a few other goodies from the past week. Let’s get right to it, shall we?
I’m in a Primoz frame of mind
Wout kept the yellow jersey cozy for him, then Primoz took over when they hit the mountains. And he kept it.
Happy Rogla back in Yellow: "I would definitely not brake if I could get the win." #Dauphine pic.twitter.com/NOOVw7kjF4

I love Primoz Roglic – he’s definitely getting much more comfortable in his post-stage interviews.
Interesting answer from Roglic this morning at start when asked who his most dangerous rival is for the final stage at the Dauphiné: "Me"
— Andrew Hood (@EuroHoody) June 12, 2022
Rogla gets funnier day by day: "I'm going to Tignes now. Then Tour de France as preparation for La Vuelta." LOOOOL 🤣 #Dauphine

But is this the stat that tells us what’s going to happen in July?

Actually, today is the first day that I've experienced a flicker of doubt over the outcome of the Tour. Roglič and Vingegaard looked SO strong… https://t.co/kX0wmmhDYw
— Katy M (@writebikerepeat) June 11, 2022
And if a rampant Roglic isn’t enough, we also have a vanquishing Vingegaard for the Tour who took the final stage of Dauphine, riding to the finish line with Rog
2010: Jani Brajkovic 🏆
2022: Primoz Roglic 🏆Simply unstoppable! After eight stages of racing, @rogla becomes the second Slovenian to win the @dauphine 🇸🇮#Dauphine | @JumboVismaRoad pic.twitter.com/cH3WmK7lRp

Vingegaard and Roglic made it sure there was no chance for incident. Vingegaard crossed finish line by a safe margin to Roglic. pic.twitter.com/Qzm7xE4JB6

But what did Wout do?
Wout van Aert spent some time in the yellow jersey, before relinquishing it to Rog and wearing the green jersey he had since day one. That’s so like Wout. But he did have *one* moment in the week that was very unlike him.
#Racing #2022CritériumduDauphiné Wout van Aert succumbs to early celebration-itis https://t.co/8yDzHHixc0

Wout Van Aert: "I feel ashamed because we worked hard all day with the team. I saw the Cofidis rider on my left couldn’t make it, so I thought it was good. But I didn’t see David come back with a very strong kick on my right. Tomorrow, I know I can do well in the time-trial." pic.twitter.com/X8DQXeWpAY

If imitation is the highest form of flattery, then Alberto Bettiol obviously wants to be just like Wout!

Wout takes it all in his stride. Translation : I am happy to pass the torch to Alberto. Great tweet back from Bettiol!
Here I am 🙋🏻♂️ 😂

Back to the Dauphine: Wout was 2sec behind the World Champ Filippo Ganna in the ITT. Two measly seconds.

He might not have won the ITT but he won a ‘holy hell! what was that?’ stage 5 with some style
“I love to win”, Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) claimed on Wednesday, and so he did on Thursday, in Chaintré, after a thrilling finale to cap off stage 5 of the #CriteriumduDauphine, covered at blazing speeds. #cycling pic.twitter.com/abRUxSKJV9

Always room for little kids in Tweets of the Week.
Kids missing their daddy, heroes missing their kids and wife. Sometimes we forget which sacrifice they have to make in order to do their job 🥺. Great to see my heroes Roglič and Van Aert try to make the most of every little moment with their family 🥰♥️. pic.twitter.com/XJAIZyd2Lr

💛 Another 🦁 for @rogla to share with his family. 🤩#Dauphiné https://t.co/Wtv9IHGYeZ

Some Wout stats
Wout van Aert has finished in the top 3 of 79% of the races he has started this season, ALL of them WorldTour.
Had to delete the last tweet as I'd included today in his race days (19), but not in his top 3s (15). the stat is even more impressive now. #Dauphiné
— Daniel Lloyd (@daniellloyd1) June 9, 2022
🟩 @WoutvanAert has now won 5⃣x the points classification in a World Tour stage race
Including 3x in #Dauphine (equaling the record of Thierry Claveyrolat)
🟢 Of his active & former Belgian 🇧🇪 colleagues only @DeGendtThomas & @jurgenroelandts have won more than 1 PC (both 2x) https://t.co/nefXwt6uWR

Farewell Big Tam
Hang on, I think we’ve done this before. But this time it’s for good. And that makes us sad.
🇳🇱 Tom Dumoulin and one of his best fitness levels in his career. What a lovely day that was!
(@lavuelta, 2015)
— Domestique (@Domestique___) June 3, 2022
📊🥇🇳🇱Dumoulin is one of the 7 riders in the history of pro-cycling who won both a ⏱️ITT ánd regular stage in all GT's (🇮🇹/🇫🇷/🇪🇸).
'15-17 – 🇳🇱Dumoulin
'93-03 -🇨🇭Zülle
'88-95 -🇨🇭Rominger
'78-82 – 🇫🇷Hinault
'73-84 – 🇮🇹Moser
'76-77 – 🇧🇪Maertens
'67-73 – 🇧🇪Merckx— Cycling Statistics 📊 (@StatsOnCycling) June 3, 2022
Another thing that makes us sad … Benelux, Eneco, BinckBank – whatever you want to call it, one of Midge’s favourite races got crowded out of the calendar
It’s also that BinckBank sounds like the name of a 1920s speakeasy, like the KitKat Club

Taco time!
Wanty just keeps chalking up the wins.

Reliving Tour 2021
If you’ve not had a gander at the Jumbo film from last Tour, here you are … lots of grit and panache! Makes me afroth for July
Just watched a 50 minutes documentary about Team Jumbo Visma in the Tour de France 2021. Two things:
1. I completly forgot how impressive they were.
2. I know for sure that I'll watch way too much TdF footage while I'm trying to study for my tests in July.— Caro 🏳️🌈 (@CaroTysk) June 10, 2022
The last word
Hear me out, final Tour de France stage full length Paris-Roubaix.
