Tour de France 2020: Stage 21 – Bennett takes champs and green; Pogacar takes all the rest

It was an amazing Tour de France for all kinds of reasons. And, to be honest, one of the most tense. Some stages just felt like something was brewing … other stages it all kicked off big time. Today, Tadej Pogacar officially won the 2020 Tour de France, along with the KOM and young rider’s jersey. And Sam Bennett sealed a great TdF for himself with a win – in the green jersey – on the Champs. Chapeau, guys!

Tour de France 2020: Stage 20 – Stunning Pogacar storms to yellow

A DRAMATIC stage 20 of the Tour de France saw Tadej Pogacar (UAE -Team Emirates) ride an extraordinary time trial to snatch the yellow jersey from the shoulders of an out-of-sorts Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma). Such was the calibre of his outstanding TT that the young Slovenian also secured the polka dots from Richard Carapaz (INEOS Grenadiers) to add to his best young rider jersey. The fact that he also claimed the stage victory from Tom Dumoulin (Jumbo-Visma) seems almost superfluous to the story! Trek-Segafredo’s Richie Porte rode out of his skin to claim the third step of the podium from Astana’s Miguel Angel Lopez. HOLY WOW what a stage!

Tour de France 2020: Stage 19 – Double Danish Delight for Kragh Andersen

Soren Kragh Andersen (Sunweb) took his second stage win of the 2020 Tour de France with another sensational solo effort. This time he launched his attack from the breakaway with 15km to go and built an unbeatable lead as his breakmates hesitated. Luka Mezgec (Mitchelton-Scott) took the sprint for second ahead of Jasper Stuyven (Trek-Segafredo). There were no changes in the GC, nor in the jersey holders.
