Aaaaaaaaand Stage 2 of Vuelta a San Juan and we have a new leader. And another crash caused by things jumping out from the roadside … this time, it was a dog …
Stage 2
Fernando Gaviria was really quiet last year – thinking back, I can only remember him winning a stage at the Giro but only because Elia Viviani was relegated. So it’s good to see him back in form as he kept his cool and rode the wheels to his first win of the season (and the leader’s jersey). Let’s hope we see more of him this season.
Taking headers
Stage 1, it was spectators who caused the crash about 3.5km from the finish. Stage 2? They let the dogs out.
Confetti and cats?
