A prologue in Luxembourg, a mountain time trial in Switzerland and not the expected sprint finish in China. Missed any of the action, no worries we’ve got you covered.
Tour de Romandie Stage 3: Ollon to Villars, MTT, 9.9km
Sky’s Egan Bernal paced the mountain time trial to perfection, making up the deficit to a flying Richie Porte (BMC) in the latter half to finish on the top step of the podium. Down on Bernal at the intermediate time check, Primoz Roglic (LottoNL-Jumbo) limited his losses to finish second, +4secs slower than the Colombian with Porte third at +18secs. Roglic retains the race lead with Bernal (+4secs) and Porte (+18secs) leaping to join him on the podium.

A clearly delighted Bernal. Good to see him back after that awful crash at the Vuelta a Catalunya.
Switzerland take a bow…

Tour of Chongming Island Stage 2: Chongming Fenghuang Park to Chongming Xincheng Pa, 121.3km
We saw a very unusual finish at this sprint-friendly race as a 5 rider breakaway made it all the way to the linl and straight into the top five places on GC. Charlotte Becker (Hitec Products-Birk Sports) sprinted in to take both the stage and the race leader’s jersey. Shannon Malseed (Team TIBCO-SVB and Anastasia Iakovenko (BTC City Ljubljana) rounded out the day’s podium and move to second and third overall. The chasing peloton finished over a minute down. Becker now holds the lead by 5secs from her closest rival with Giorgia Bronzini (Cylance) leading the rest at +1:13 in 5th.

Festival Elsy Jacobs: Cessange to Cessange, Prologue, 2.1km
The short, highly technical course where cornering and climbing skills were paramount produced a tightly packed podium. Canyon-SRAM’s Lisa Klein just edged out Amy Pieters (Boels-Dolmans) by a sliver of a second to claim the race lead, with Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig (Cervelo-Bigla) third at +1sec.
