Final KM: Stage 4, Vuelta a Andalucia, Volta ao Algarve

Crazy paved inclines and fast finishes.

Vuelta a Andalucia Ruta Ciclista Del Sol: St 4, Sevilla to Alcalá de los Gazules , 191.2km

The stage that lit Twitter up. Watch and enjoy as Lotto Soudal’s Tim Wellens gets the better of Mikkel Landa (Movistar)  on the craziest of paved inclines you’re likely to see. Join in the fun on exactly who the rider from Astana was in third… (hint he was DANISH!!).

Video, we pick it up with 4km to go

Wellen’s stage victory gives him a 7secs advantage on Landa going into the final time trial today, with Wout Poels (Sky) at +11secs. The Belgian  seems to have been racing for years and yet he’s still only only 26 #babyfacedassasin

Sep Vanmarcke (EF Education First – Drapac p/b Cannondale) had quite the day….

Chris Froome (Sky) suffered an ill timed puncture in the closing stages yesterday to find himself 1:44 mins off the lead.

Third for Astana’s Jakob Fuglsang – and time trial with gravel roads on the menu for the next stage? BRING IT ON!

Volta ao Algarve em Bicicleta: St 4, Almodôvar to Tavira, 199.2km

LottoNL Jumbo took their second stage win in Portugal. Dynamic lead out duo Timo Roosen and Amund Jansen got their sprinter into the right place at the right time and Dylan Groenewegen did the rest. Easily holding off Matteo Pelluchi (BORA-hansgrohe) and catching Trek-Segafredo’s John Degnkolb after he went to the front too early. Geraint Thomas (Sky) still holds the race lead by 19secs from Michal Kwiatkowski.

Video, we pick it up at the 2km mark.

Philippe Gilbert (Quick-Step Floors) got in a little Classics practice.
