Final KM: Stage 5 OVO Energy Tour of Britain

That most British of time trial institutions, the classic 10mile, in the very traditional seaside town of Clacton-on-Sea left the GC well and truly shaken up.

Tour of Britain Stage 5: Tendring to Tendring, ITT, 16.2km

Lars Boom underlined his form from the recent BinckBink Tour with a scorching against-the-clock ride to grab stage and the leader’s jersey against some very notable timetrialists.  LottoNL-Jumbo have every reason to celebrate as  Boom’s teammate and reigning European time trial Champion Victor Campanaerts  finished second (+6secs) with Sky’s Vasil Kiryenka rounding out the podium at +7secs.  With three stages to go, the Jumbo Bees have three riders in a GC top 5 separated by 13secs.
