The World Champion gets his annual Tour de Suisse victory and celebrates in style.
Tour de Suisse Stage 5: Bex to Cevio, 222km
Peter Sagan made it look all too easy as he unleashed a devastating sprint and sailed over the line with enough time to reveal a new victory salute. The World Champion locked onto Sunweb’s Nikias Arndt wheel and then blasted past leaving Michael Albasini (Orica-Scott) and Quickstepper Matteo Trentin to round out the podium several bike lengths behind. There was no change on GC , BMC’s Damiano Caruso holds 16secs advantage over Stephen Kruiswijk (LottoNL-Jumbo)

Embed from Getty ImagesDefending champion Miguel Angel Lopez (Astana) was involved in a heavy crash on the descent of the Simplonpass and was forced to abandon the race. This is blow for the young Colombian who has only just returned to racing after serious injury in the off-season and was showing signs of his old sparkiness. Fortunately, the news from his team is that the injuries are not too severe and we hope he returns to racing soon.
