The last of our #Giro100 Final KM round-ups. We can’t believe it’s all over *cries*. What a crazy, exhilarating and exhausting final week. I’m not sure I can cheer or cry anymore for a while. Catch it all for the first time, or as a repeat – it’s such a wonderful thing.
The Giro that has served up a thriller of Grand Tour gave us one more last-gasp, clock-watching, stab of excitement. Only 53secs separated the top four on GC. Fastest man on the day was LottoNL-Jumbo’s Jos Van Emden, who blistered around the 29.3km course in 33:08mins and spent most of the race in the hotseat. The man who ran him closest was fellow countryman Tom Dumoulin, who kept his cool and powered his way from fourth overall right to the top step of the Giro podium. A pink-booted Nairo Quintana held on for 2nd with Vincenzo Nibali delighting home fans with third place.
