Final KM: Tour of the Alps Stage 2

Riders woke to snow and finished in sunshine. However, the weather wasn’t the only thing changing at the second day of racing in the Tour of the Alps.

Tour of the Alps Stage 2: Vipiteno to Innervillgraten, 140.4km

Rohan Dennis (BMC) outsprinted his fellow climbers to claim victory on a snow shortened stage. The Australian surged away from a large finishing group, after a strong break of three was reeled in on the final kilometer of the climb. Thibaut Pinot (FDJ) finished second on the day to claim the leader’s jersey  from Michele Scarponi (Astana) on count back – they’re on the same time. Androni Giacatolli’s Davide Ballerini rounded out the podium.
