Every year I try to find new posters to entice you all – and to give a shoutout to some great work from mainly individuals or small businesses. And this year is no exception. We have some new names for you, but more importantly fun and fabulous gift ideas for seasonal generosity!
Rebecca J Kaye
These fun prints from Edinburgh-based Rebecca J Kaye speak to her love of geometry and colour. Her online shop has plenty of bold and bright prints, tees and greetings cards to choose from. Alphabike is a light-hearted alphabet themed print, while the UCI World Tour poster is a minimalist celebration of the season’s races.
While I am in no way a track cycling enthusiast, I am very enthusiastic about Rebecca’s Velodrome lithography print. In fact, I am absolutely in love with this design. Clean, abstract, magnificent. YUM!
All these prints are sold unframed, are 400x500mm and printed with archival inks on 165gsm paper stock. They are all individually signed. All UK orders £25 and over are postage free, otherwise UK postage is a flat £3; worldwide is a flat £5. All prints are sent in a sturdy black presentation tube, so you’d just need to wrap some shiny paper around it and stick it under the tree!
This Etsy shop has lots of great posters, but my favourite is Peloton Roundabout, a bird’s-eye view of the peloton with jerseys inspired by Bianchi, Molteni and Peugeot. Available in both mid-century blue and mid-century mustard.
This print is 230x500mm and is printed on acid-free archival paper and posted in a sturdy mailing tube. This is sold unframed and unmatted. UK postage is a flat £4; see online for worldwide shipping charges.
Another Etsy shop, SoldShop has a variety of posters and teeshirts, many with nothing to do with cycling but still magnificent. This particular design is available both as prints and teeshirts in a few colours.
This A3 screenprint is limited to a run of 100 and is embossed and individually numbered in the bottom right corner. The screenprint pictured is in metallic silver, but gold and bronze ink are available as well. UK postage, £4.50; see website for worldwide shipping costs.
The teeshirt is 100% cotton; comes in sizes from S-XL and in navy and yellow. UK postage £3; see the website for worldwide shipping costs.
This poster of the winners of the Tour de France from 1903-2016 is from English Cyclist, who was inspired by the changing jerseys and teams as the Tour grew from humble beginnings to the razzmatazz extravaganza it is now. For anyone who loves the history of the world’s most famous cycle race.
This poster is available in A1, A2 and A3 sizes and printed on 260gsm satin photo paper. As with all the posters featured, this is sold unframed and comes in a sturdy postal tube. UK postage £5; see website for worldwide shipping costs.
Band of Climbers
Every World Championship, you will hear me and Panache go on and on and on about how much we love the Belgian kit. If you know someone who loves those bold stripes too, then Band of Climbers has the perfect gift! Belgian National Champion cushion covers! Or, if you’re so inclined, why not opt for the British National Champion cushion cover for a little red, white and blue in your life.
Cover fits a 40x40cm cushion. Please note: you need to rustle up the cushion itself to put your fabulous champs’ covers on, those aren’t included. UK shipping is £1.99 per order; International shipping, £5, with free international shipping on all orders over £33.
Band of Climbers also does teeshirts – and I really like this one with its discreet Band of Climbers badge on the left breast. Lacoste alligator, eat your heart out. Teeshirts are £20.99, 100% combed cotton and comes in men’s sizes S to XL. See above for postage rates.
