Criterium du Dauphine review: third victory validation for Chris Froome’s Tour form

Chris Froome seized the race lead on Friday with an impressive acceleration 2.5km from the line on the first of three mountain stages. He retained it over the week-end where he fended off numerous attacks to take his third victory and Sky’s fifth in this race, showing he’s in fine form for the Tour de France. Aggressive riding from Romain Bardet and Dan Martin, particularly over the last three decisive days, landed the duo podium spots as runner-up and third-place respectively in what was a gripping race.
