Final KM: Tour de Romandie Stage 2

Stage two, day three, first big mountain test, and a controversial finish! Tour de Romandie just got real.

Tour de Romandie, Moudon to Morgins, 173.9km

Nairo Quintana (Movistar) and defending champion Ilnur Zakarin (Katusha) struck out for victory on the last climb. Zakarin crossed the line first with arms aloft, but it was Don Nairo’s gesticulation of displeasure that caught the attention. The race jury decided the Katusha captain had sprinted irregularly and he was demoted to second place. Rui Costa (Lampre-Merida) led the elite chase group home for third. Quintana leads the GC by 18secs from Zakarin, with former leader Ion Izagirre (Movistar) at +20secs.
