A Liege-Bastogne-Liege the like of which many have never experienced, and a very special podium wrap up from the Tour of Croatia.
Liege-Bastogne-Liege
Snow, rain, sunshine, repeat! What a day of extremes for the #LBL peloton. In the end a group of four riders made the jump on the new cobbled climb of Rue Naniot and held their advantage on the run to the line. Sky’s Wout Poels took the victory (and his team’s first monument), just holding off a tireless Michael Albasini (Orica-GreenEDGE) and Rui Costa (Lampre-Merida). A fine battle hardened podium for a fierce and tiring edition La Doyenne.

On a tough uphill finish IAM cat Sondre Holst Enger accelerated past Trek-Segafredo’s Edward Theuns to take his first win since a stage at the Tour of Austria in 2015. Timothy Dupont (Verandas Willems) held on to take third. Synergy Baku’s Matija Kavsina held on through all the attacks and takes home the leader’s jersey in his home tour. Jesper Hansen (Tinkoff) and Victor de la Parte (CCC Sprandi-Polkowice) finished second and third respectively. Giacomo Nozzolo‘s performance earns him the points jersey, with his Trek teamie Ricardo Zoidl carrying off the mountains version. Best young rider was Domen Novak for Adria Mobil with Synergy Baku taking best team.
