Synchronous, sleek, speedy and slippy … it’s team time trial day.
Tour of Croatia St 5, Porec to Umag, TTT, 40.3k
The heavens opened a few minutes before the TTT making the ultra technical start and finish even trickier. At times it was like a skating rink as teams and riders battled to keep the TT bikes on the tarmac. Tinkoff took the victory, getting around the course 4secs faster than Gazprom-RusVelo with CCC Sprandi-Polkowice finishing at +10secs. A long TTT always has the potential to reshuffle the GC and so it proved. Jesper Hansen (Tinkoff) is now second overall with CCC’s Victor de la Parte in third. However, Synergy Baku put in the ride of their lives to finish 4th and keep overnight leader Matija Kvasina on the top step. The Croatian holds 32secs on both Hansen and de la Parte for the final stage.
Well deserved pizza for the Synergy Baku guys…
