Final KM: Tour of Oman, Stage 1

We’re kicking off a packed week of racing with the Tour of Oman, and we’re starting with a right bobby dazzler of a win from young Bobby Jungels.

Tour of Oman, Stage 1, Oman Exhibition Centre to Al Bhustan, 145.5km

We admire a rider with a plan and the panache to see it through at VeloVoices and Bob Jungels (Etixx-Quick Step) certainly made good use of his homework on recon day. With two kilometres to go, he engaged the BIG chainring on the descent and pedaled away from the lead group like only a four-time Luxembourg TT champ can. Dimension Data’s Serge Pauwels crossed the line 6secs later, closely followed by Bedhead Bardet (Ag2r-LaMondiale) in third. Time bonuses put Bob into the red leader’s jersey by 10secs. This is Etixx’s 9th win of the season and it’s still only February #waytoride!

#mister55 refers to the 55 tooth chainring Bob asked the Etixx mechanics to fit on race day.

Final KM… it’s impressive and with out commentary you can hear his YELL as crosses the line… just brillaint!
