Day nine of our 12 days of visual treats from the Grubers! Today, it’s a disgruntled Skyrider, looking less than thrilled with the Italian weather.

Geraint Thomas, Milan-San Remo
Jered: Ashley and I have never been more unhappy leaving a race than we were at this year’s Milan-San Remo. We were convinced that we had endured our worst day ever, image-wise, and we even went so far as to wonder what we were doing in Europe. Everything about that day was a disaster.
The next morning, however, I started looking through the images … some of them were insane. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing versus what we thought we had done. It was like someone had come in the middle of the night and replaced our cameras with someone else’s! And in all of that, there was this image of Geraint Thomas. He wasn’t miserable like some of his teammates, but he was definitely annoyed. I wasn’t ready to shoot him, but he posed up for a shot for me, which I 100% missed! This was the shot following the pose.
The best shot from the Sky series was a smiling Edvald Boasson Hagen who was so completely unconcerned about the weather, he was hanging out outside chatting to people, just like it was a warm and sunny Riviera day. Two minutes later, I see this Ag2r rider roll up looking like he might just fall off his bike and die on the spot.
