Nicolas Roche has lived in the shadow of his father Stephen’s achievements for his entire career, but this week he has managed two things his dad never managed: first a stage victory at the Vuelta and now the leader’s jersey. Understandably he looks quite pleased!

Saxo sweep (well, nearly)
NetApp-Endura’s Leopold Konig may have won today’s stage, but things couldn’t be much better if you’re Saxo-Tinkoff. Not only is Nicolas Roche leading three of the four jersey classifications, but they are now also the team classification leaders. Only Katusha’s Daniel Moreno, the points leader, stands between them and a clean sweep.
