Rider updates: Philippe Gilbert, Rui Costa and Nairo Quintana
It has been a quiet few months for Philippe Gilbert in the rainbow jersey, though the other two riders I’m following in 2013 – Movistar’s climbing starlets Nairo Quintana and Rui Costa – have excelled beyond all expectations. Here’s a recap of the trio’s results since our last update in April.
The Musette: We’re going fashionably retro with dips
I always have some dips in the fridge because they have a multitude of uses. Served with crudités they make a quick lunch after my morning ride, they add oomph to a salad baguette, I use them as a side dish to a piece of grilled fish or meat or to pacify the hungry hordes (of cyclists) while I finish preparing the main meal.
