Image of the day: Stage 20

Who better to hit the slopes of the final climb out in front on his own than Jens Voigt? We all knew he was never going to hold on for the win, but the oldest man in the peloton – he turns 42 in mid-September – remains one of the youngest at heart as he commanded his legs to shut up for perhaps the last time ever at the Tour. The day’s combativity prize was a given – maybe one day someone will recognise his career with a Lifetime Combativity Award?
