Every Wednesday during the Tour de France I’ll be examining tactical tidbits from the week’s stages to look into key events which shape the race. Here are a few observations from the opening four days.
Stage 5: Cagnes-sur-Mer to Marseille, 228.5km, rolling
This stage could go any one of three ways: we could have a breakaway winner, a sprint finish or a crafty puncheur taking advantage of a tricky uncategorised climb 12.5km from the finish to steal the stage. Continue reading
