The rise of WorldTour team introduction videos

Over the last several seasons we’ve seen more and more teams creating videos that introduce the new team at the beginning of the season. Some are polished and others are well… less polished, but they are all fun to watch. This page contains all the videos we’ve found this year for WorldTour teams. Bookmark it or share it with your friends and let us know if you’ve found some that we haven’t and we’ll add them!

Ag2r La Mondiale

I’m not sure this is strictly an introduction video. I think this is the French version of Call Me Maybe but just not as popular. Remember to do the ‘hand tweet’ every time you see an Ag2r rider.

The Astana video is seizure-inducing, thanks to the colour of the kit and the video editing. After you’ve recovered from that, you can enjoy Vincenzo Nibali landing at the airport.

Soft piano, black, blue and planking: what more could we ask for in a newly branded Rabobank squad?

[booming voice] In a time of change, the sky will move very quickly and Peter Sagan will go to Hollywood. [end booming voice]

Euskaltel Euskadi

The best part of this is Samuel Sanchez with his son at home! Nice crib!

Garmin Sharp

This video doesn’t introduce the team, but it does introduce a new Garmin product. In this video, we learn that David Millar dresses to match his kitchen and Ryder Hesjedal keeps his maglia rosa on a chair in his living room.

Lotto Belisol

This is a review of all that Lotto accomplished in 2012. Will 2013 be even better for the Gorilla and his companions?

This video contains wonderful rider interviews that I don’t understand because I don’t speak Spanish. But I’m sure each rider talks about how strong the team is and how they will all support Alejandro Valverde.

Omega Pharma-Quick Step

It’s the Mark & Tom show with a strong supporting cast. [This is basically just a video of Cav’s initiation ceremony, isn’t it? – Ed]

Cycling is not just another sport. It requires marginal gains!

  1. I’m still not entirely sure whether any of these are actually serious – particularly Cannondale’s, which is adorably OTT. (Obviously, Sky’s doesn’t contain a trace of humour …)
