Tweets of the Week: Mullets, Magnums and Tom and his magnificent Boonens

Funny, cruel, odd, personal … you get it all on Twitter. Each week, we’ll have a rundown of some of our favourite tweets. Here are the tweets for the week ending 16th September 2012.

It’s Tom’s world … we just ride in it!

OPQS stormed to victory in the Worlds trade team time trial on Sunday … and it looks like it’s setting up Tom and his magnificent Boonens for a fantastic road race. Will he be back in the rainbow jersey by this time next week? We shall see, but in the meantime, here is a selection of pictures of the day (OPQS do a nice line in Instagrams!).

The boys are off the leash

The season is winding down and a lot of the boys in the peloton are already in their off-season. And you know what that means … FOOD! DRINK! ICE CREAM!

#Mullet2013

Jens had quite an active week on Twitter – he had a bit of a run-in with tweeters regarding his reaction to Tyler Hamilton’s book; he started folding 1000 paper cranes and he showed us his accreditations for the Worlds TTT.

Someone mentioned that he looked like a boy wizard in this picture. I would agree! But that led another picture to pop up …

…which led to the #Mullet2013 campaign.

Say cheese, boys

There were some great pictures on Twitter last week – I’ve collected a few to share, kind of a random selection but a picture’s worth a thousand words.

And last but not least, here is a great picture of Mark Cavendish, who, it is universally believed, will lose the rainbow jersey on Sunday. He has been a great World Champion and I’m sure we’ll see him in the jersey again. But until then, here’s one of the last pictures of him wearing the champion’s bands.

See you next week when we’ll have the new World Champion – will it be Tom? or PhilGil? or SuperSagan? We shall see. Until then, have a good week, tweeties!
