Tweets of the Week: Tempers, tattoos and Teutonic thankfulness

Funny, cruel, odd, personal … you get it all on Twitter. Each week, we’ll have a rundown of some of our favourite tweets. Here are the tweets for the week ending 2nd September 2012.

It ain’t all glamorous

David Millar went to Biarritz last week and it seems he ran into some problems with his hotel. They said something that they really shouldn’t have …

I would love to know who these two guys are …

I keep saying how accessible cyclists are, but Argonaut Koen de Kort quite rightly would like a little less accessibility at the end of a stage – will we see the photographs of Koen stripping off soon?

Adam Hansen, who is riding his third Grand Tour this year(!), isn’t getting the star treatment he’s been used to. Seems his hotel last week was more like something abutting a prison …

Of course, it’s not glamorous out on the bike either. It’s about suffering. It’s about who can suffer the most and the longest. So far in this Vuelta, it’s been Joaquim Rodriguez! But it’s etched on his face …

What was going through your mind when …

Have you ever wondered what cyclists are thinking as they are riding along, especially by themselves in a TT? While I think that Fabian Cancellara is probably thinking “must go faster to see Kitty sooner”, it seems that Mr Hansen tries to fool himself while on the bike.

And on the subject of ‘what were they thinking?’, we get this picture of a tattoo of a Danish Sky fan. Now, the wording bit, okay, I get that – a decent enough sentiment. But the big Sky logo? Why would you brand yourself like that? Even Wiggo finds it disturbing. As I look into my crystal ball, I see regret – and long trousers – in this man’s future.

Get thee to IKEA

So Hollywood Phinney is doing a spot of decorating and nest-building. He’s shared his extensive list with us.

#LiveJens

Just a sweet string of tweets from our favourite big-hearted hardman.

We’re ready for our close-up, Mr Henderson

I love that the Lotto-Belisol boys have no qualms about taking silly pictures of themselves and posting them on Twitter. However, the legs pic is just downright scary. The mighty Greg Henderson was the snapper on these.

Right, that’s it for me this week … The magnificent Vuelta finishes this weekend and it’s been a real cracker! Enjoy the final spectacle!
